Australian Rules football celebrates 150 years in 2008 with an international carnival to be held in Melbourne and Warrnambool in Victoria, Australia between 27 August and 6th September. Ireland won the 2002 cup and New Zealand won the 2005 cup with PNG runners up on both occasions. As well as seeing the return of Denmark, up to 16 teams are set to compete, with new sides from China, Finland, India, Israel/Palestine (Peres Team), Sweden as well as multicultural sides. Team Asia comprised of players from Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and the Phillipines. Team Africa comprised of players from Sudan, Somalia, Algeria and Ethiopia. The Grand Final will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and will be televised on Fox Sports Australia. This is such an amazing sport. It has so much skill involved and takes so much endurance. Put it this way the average rugby athlete runs 4 miles in one game. AFLers run 8 MILES in one match INSANE! Love this game. Really need this in America!
